12-12 R.E.M. Covers’ Livestream to Benefit Equal Justice Initiative & Bowery Ballroom

This Saturday, December 12th, R.E.M. tribute band Shaking Through will play a live-streamed benefit show at 8:00 PM ET as part of the Bowery Electric’s “Live Premiere Sessions” in NYC.

The band, who cover R.E.M. songs from Chronic Town to Document, will perform live at the club but without any in-person attendance. Ticket holders can watch the show at home via the Veeps platform where the recording will be available On-demand through December 18th.

Tickets for the livestream (http://bit.ly/ShakingThroughLive) can be purchased for $10 although you’re encouraged to contribute more if you can–100% of the show’s proceeds will be split evenly between the Equal Justice Initiative and Save The Bowery Electric. EJI is committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States, to challenging racial and economic injustice, and to protecting basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society. Like many venues, Bowery Electric is struggling to keep their doors open, and this benefit stands to provide some much-needed assistance to the venue and staff during the pandemic.

Shaking Through’s lineup is Greg Baldwin (Guitar), Alec Cumming (Bass), Keith Malonis (Drums), and Tom Hall (Vocals).

Let’s all get together and support these great causes while enjoying some live music  from home: http://bit.ly/ShakingThroughLive
