“I woke up to the news of Bill Rieflin’s passing this morning. Of course he was a consummate musician; but I hold close my personal memories of Bill the dapper gentleman whose mischievous sense of humor, usually dark, was ever on target; and of his elegant and calm demeanor in any circumstance; and of his keen intelligence and active mind. It’s a huge loss, by any metric.
I’d like to present by way of in memoriam this song from my 2004 solo album he played on. Already an emotional song, written about my daughter and our lengthy communication *before* she was born, in today’s light it sounds like a benediction for a soul’s journey, from one form to the next.”

Rest in Peace, Bill.
