The listening parties in Athens for the release of R.E.M. Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage, 1982-2011 are fast approaching, and event organizer Jeff Montgomery says tickets to both nights–the Georgia Theatre on November 13th and the 40 Watt on November 14th–are going fast. There will be some fantastic items in the live and silent auctions on Monday night including a Rickenbacker guitar signed by the band, Laura Levine’s iconic photo of the band at Walter’s BBQ in 1984, autographed posters, vinyl, and CDs. The musical lineup on Sunday is outstanding and includes: The Corduroy Road, David Barbe and the Quick Hooks, Futurebirds, Grogus, Jack Logan and Coventry Climax, John Keane and NathanSheppard, Kevn Kinney, Lera Lynn, Nanny Island, Romper Stompers (feat. Todd Nance of Widespread Panic, William Tonks & Jon Mills of Barbara Cue, and Daniel Hutchens of Bloodkin), 706, and Thayer Sarrano.
