REMHQ can now confirm that R.E.M. will play a set at the London Apple iTunes Store on Wednesday, March 26th. The iTunes one-off will be the band’s second appearance in London during their two-week European promotional tour. There are a few competitions in the works for tickets, most notably those by XFM and the Evening Standard, so please stay tuned to your local media outlets for more information. We have learned that XFM has plans to broadcast the iTunes store set at a later date, and we will keep you posted on these details.
ROYAL ALBERT HALL, MARCH 24TH
As previously announced, R.E.M. will also play a concert at the Royal Albert Hall along with Robyn Hitchcock, Foals, and Duke Spirit in support of the Institute for Contemporary Arts, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary. R.E.M.’s Royal Albert Hall set will be broadcast live on Radio 2 from 9:30-10:30. You can read more about the ICA event here as well as Q Magazine’s site.
EUROPEAN PROMO TOUR
Beginning today, the band kicks off a European promotional tour in support of ACCELERATE. The tour begins in Milan, Italy, and then goes to and through France, England, and Germany.
