Michael has joined with other like-minded musicians, activists, actors, athletes, and artists in supporting Free Tibet’s T For Tibet campaign. The campaign, which involves making the T For Tibet hand signal, represents a show of solidarity for the Tibetan people whose unique culture, religion and basic human rights in Tibet have been rapidly eroded over the last several years. The hand signal is quickly gaining currency as a powerful symbol of support for Tibetan human rights at a crucial time as China prepares to host the Olympic games in Beijing.
Why a T?
(from Freetibet.org )
It’s a quick, simple way for athletes in Beijing – or anyone, anywhere in the world – to show their support for Tibetan people. Anyone can make a T for Tibet hand signal.
The T for Tibet hand signal is a simple way of sending a message: it’s time to free Tibet.
For 20 years, Free Tibet Campaign has been working for the right of Tibetans to determine their own future. We campaign for an end to the Chinese occupation of Tibet and for the fundamental human rights of Tibetans to be respected.
