On Monday, January 19th, Michael and the Manifest Hope: DC art gallery will co-host a special party in celebration of the inauguration of Barack Obama. The party, presented by MoveOn.org, SEIU, OBEY Giant, and Shepard Fairey, is also co-hosted by Rosario Dawson, and actress Heather Graham. Live performers include Santogold, De La Soul, and Moby, who will spin directly after the live set.
âSantogold,” Michael said, “is my pick for album of the year, and this is easily the best event of the week.” âI plan to salute the epoch with great music, great activists and artists and a superfun crowd.â In addition to the party, the Manifest Hope: DC gallery will present a show featuring an array of the nation’s most talented visual artists under one roof to mark the inauguration. The gallery, which will be open to the public from January 17th through 19th, encourages artists and activists to maintain the momentum from the campaign and bring real reform in three key areas: health care, workers’ rights, and the green economy.
