Mick Rock 1948 – 2021

“We mourn the passing of the great Mick Rock, arguably the premier music photographer of our times. Mick was an intense, generous and loving man, a cyclone force of nature, who over and over and over again captured and created historic photographic moments in music with his beautiful energy and talent. From Ziggy-era David Bowie to Lou Reed, Iggy & the Stooges, to Blondie and Syd Barrett, Mick Jagger, Freddy Mercury and Queen, and many more, Mick was the trusted chronicler of these epic characters. I’m flattened by the news of his death, and yet I celebrate his time here on earth, and the work that he did while here.  His work changed my life for the better. His friendship was a rare and beautiful treat, and the influence will be with me and us forever, as will his energy and my love for him.  This photo of Mick was taken by Thomas in our Broome Street apartment so many years ago, Mick at at our work table figuring out the next shot.  Bless this beautiful man.”  — Michael
