This photo was from the first session Anton Corbijn ever did with R.E.M., in Athens c. 1990, just before Out of Time. I remember in the back and forth about which song would go to radio first, thinking (and saying) that this sleeve artwork sure looked like it fit “Losing My Religion.” It did, and it connected– twenty years ago this month.
