Peter’s bandmate, Barrett Martin describes the new song:
This song was recorded in Joshua Tree at the Rancho De La Luna studio where we had just flown in from Manaus in the Brazilian Amazon. Duke Garwood was struck by the beauty of the sunset in the high Mojave Desert, a sunset he had just seen over the Amazon River the night before. He wrote the lyrics right there in Joshua Tree, we recorded the basic track, and then we finished the backing vocals at Alain’s studio in Santiago, Chile. Then Barrett recorded the vibraphone solos, Lisette did the percussion, and Peter recorded his textural guitars at Barrett’s Sunyata Sound in Olympia, WA. Notice the subtle but extremely cool Moog synth solo at the very end of the song played by the legendary David Catching. Then we mixed the whole thing in Spain so it’s literally a song recorded and mixed on 3 continents. The beautiful, surrealistic video is by director/cinematographer Tad Fettig.
