NEW YEAR NEWS: MURMUR FIVE STAR REVIEW AND MORE

Happy New Year to everyone from all of us at REMHQ, and an especially happy (if somewhat belated) birthday shout-out to Michael who celebrated his birthday on Sunday, January 4th.

Now, the news:

The Murmur re-issue continues to garner accolades… this time from UK music mag Uncut who heap five stars on the Deluxe Edition of R.E.M.’s debut record. Click HERE to read the review in the Press section.

The band is also currently featured in the Oxford American’s Southern Music Issue (#10) which is out in stores now. The Southern Music Issue comes with two CDs chock-full of great music, including R.E.M.’s Until the Day Is Done. For more information on how to get a copy, please click HERE.

The Boston Globe has an article on Howard Finster’s Paradise Gardens which unfortunately has fallen into a serious state of disrepair. The nonprofit Paradise Gardens Park and Museum foundation, which is working hard to preserve Finster’s amazing artistic legacy, hopes to raise $1 million for repairs. Please click HERE to read more and visit Finstersparadisegardens.org to see how you can contribute to the cause.

Finally, check out this stellar Op-ed from the Sunday NY Times by the estimable Michael Lewis and his colleague David Einhorn: The End of the Financial World As We Know It b/w How to Repair a Broken Financial World. Nice title!
