R.E.M.’s song “Orange Crush” is on the soundtrack for THE INTERNET MUST GO, a short satirical film by Gena Konstantinakos. The film was released today to coincide with oral arguments in Verizon’s lawsuit to remove open Internet protections. The short online mockumentary, designed to be shared using social media, uses Colbert-style interviews with Internet luminaries and humor to expose the absurdity of familiar arguments against net neutrality and explain what the Court’s ruling could mean for normal Internet users.
With a soundtrack featuring popular artists including R.E.M., Death Cab for Cutie, Bon Iver, Spoon, and OK Go, this short film is made for anyone who loves and relies on the open Internet — entrepreneurs, organizers, artists, business people, and storytellers alike.
