POSTCARD FROM ON THE WAY HOME FROM TODOS SANTOS

Well the second Todos Santos Music Festival seems to me to be a very good thing– truly a fine time had by all and I cannot think of a more relaxed, fun, chill few days of music and friendship in a special environment: the rough-hewn, charming town of Todos Santos, art town, surf town, food town, music town. Among my highlights: catching up with friends I was way overdue seeing, getting to hear some tremendous music by a variety of artists, making new friends, seeing old ones. In generala, I had a blast at this very special thing Peter, with help from many, has created. Highly recommended. Yes it is a ways to go to get there, but the rewards are many on all those levels. I missed the heyday of Big Sur as a salon of sorts where all kinds of artistic types, starting from a basis of friendship and shared values, regularly came together to create and commune– it is the stuff of legend and I feel like the last few days were a little like that, at least from this fan’s perspective. In some ways the Todos Santos festival is like a tiny version of what I like about the big ones we have all been to over the years and which formed many of the lasting memories of my career representing the band: often for a worthwhile cause bigger than any individual or group, always conducive to interesting collaborations and combinations, all centering on friends and their love for music.

That was fun– long may it continue. Peter you have my eternal congratulations, thanks and gratitude.
