R.E.M is honored to be nominated for a 2005 Croatian Porin Award. This award is the highest honor in Croatian music awards, similar to the Grammy Awards in the United States.
In the category of Best Foreign Video Program, R.E.M. has been nominated for Perfect Square, the live concert DVD directed by Julia Knowles and filmed in Wiesbaden, Germany during the bandâs 2003 tour. The other nominees are Norah Jones for Live in 2004, and Live Aid.
The Porin Awards will take place on April 9, 2005 and will be broadcast by Croation National Television (HRT).
