Radio Free Europe 2025 Released Today (Release Honors Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty)

We are thrilled to announce the release of Radio Free Europe 2025, a five-track benefit EP featuring two never-before-released tracks: a 2025 remix by longtime collaborator Jacknife Lee and original producer Mitch Easter’s 1981 remix “Radio Free Dub.”

The release celebrates the 75th anniversary of the “OG” Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, established by the United States 75 years ago to broadcast news and information where a free press is either banned or under threat, and arrives just ahead of World Press Freedom Day on May 3.

Radio Free Europe 2025 is available to stream and download today. A limited-edition 10-inch orange-vinyl pressing–available for pre-order now exclusively via the REMHQ store and independent record stores–lands September 12. Proceeds from all vinyl sales will go to RFE/RL, an editorially independent nonpartisan and nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation.

The EP, overseen by Easter, opens with a 2025 remix by Lee who produced the band’s final two studio LPs. Completing the package are Easter’s original 1981 recordings: the Hib-Tone single mix of “Radio Free Europe,” its flipside, “Sitting Still, the “Wh. Tornado” demo, and “Radio Free Dub”.
