Also, earlier in the week, it was a very fine thing indeed to learn that Weezer has recorded what is sure to be an intriguing version of Oddfellow’s Local 151, a rarely covered number if ever there was one from the R.E.M. canon. While, unfortunately, we don’t yet have a clip of Weezer’s version to share, we do have R.E.M. playing “Oddfellows” in Utrecht, Holland, in 1987:

Minus Five fans, who by now have most likely heard news of the Five’s big tour next month with Steve Wynn and The Baseball Project, will enjoy reading this review of their latest record Killingsworth.

Paste’s Top 20 List has created a stir this week and prompted at least two more “Best Of” lists that we’re aware of including the Louisville Courier Journal’s Top Ten R.E.M. Songs List and Pop Candy’s own Top Ten List
