As we head into a hot Georgia weekend, we wanted to do a quick wrap-up of the latest news from REMHQ:

BERLIN STUDIO NEWS

RECLAIM THE COAST BENEFIT CONCERTS

As part of Michael’s continuing efforts to help repair the Gulf Coast, he has designed a wine label for City Winery. They will be selling a special Reclaim the Coast wine, as well as hosting benefit concerts on three nights in July. Tonight is the final night with performances by Amber Rubarth, Vienna Teng, Martin Rivas and others. Reclaim the Coast is hoping to raise $50,000 for those in need of immediate assistance.

100% of all ticket proceeds will be donated to the Gulf Restoration Network and Global Green USA.

LOCAL NEWS

A benefit for local Athens musician Greg Veale will take place at the 40 Watt on Friday, July 30. Veale, a founding member of the Normaltown Flyers (a Peter Buck favorite) is dealing with health problems and is in need of assistance. Autographed items from R.E.M. and Widespread Panic will be auctioned.
