A different kind of opening tonight in Ipswich, as Michael made a statement of commemoration and expressed the hope that the music tonight could, as it often does, be a form of healing, of remembrance, of a celebration of life…the band then went into what should be an inspired set:
Everybody Hurts, Get up, Whatâs the Frequency, Kenneth?, Bad Day and The One I Love so far. . .
Really appropriate and poignant, in a moving and genuine way…
Bertis just let us know the band tonight did one of, if not the greatest versions of These Days that he has ever seen/heard them do. He also mentioned that Mike dedicated a stellar (Don’t go Back to) Rockville to the Tractorboys of the Ipswich Town Football Club.
