JIM MCKAY FILM FESTIVAL CONTINUES THROUGH MONDAY IN ATHENS

The film festival honoring the work of Jim McKay is going great and has been very well received and well-attended, especially considering how jammed Athens was this past weekend. Michael especially, but also Peter and Mike, have attended some of the screenings, and Michael did a great Q&A after the Friday night opening show of TOURFILM–which looked spectacular blown up on the big screen. And Dave Daley from salon.com, is terrific and here all four days. Jim goes to the University and Clarke Central HS today for these events:

Panel discussion: “Serious TV, Streaming Media, and the Latest ‘Death of Cinema’: Storytelling in the Age of Binge Viewing.” Featuring Jim McKay, Antje Ascheid, Associate Professor of Film Studies, Nate Kohn, Professor of Telecommunications and Associate Director, Peabody Awards, and Michell L. Davis, an intellectual property and entertainment attorney in the Atlanta firm Register Lett. Moderated By David Daley, editor-in Chief, salon.com, 1:25 p.m. Monday in the UGA Fine Arts Building, Balcony Theatre.

Jim McKay discussion with high school students, no charge, Monday, 4:00, Clarke Central High School media center…

Athens people come on out to the schools. Jim sure has been willing to WORK while he’s here. So great for Athens– thank you Jim.
