JOSEPH ARTHUR OFFERS NEW TRACK FOR GULF COAST AID

R.E.M friend, touring mate, and In The Sun author/project collaborator Joseph Arthur has released a new track called “Last Train to Ithaca” which he is offering as a gift to fans as a reminder of the work that still needs to be done in terms of Gulf Coast relief. According to Joseph’s website, he wrote “Last Train to Ithaca” shortly after Hurricane Katrina struck the coast. It’s a reminder, he says, that there are still many out there who need assistance. Arthur is encouraging fans to make a donation to mercy corps who continue to spearhead the relief effort:

“Here is a song written soon after Hurricane Katrina struck,” Arthur says. “There is a line in it “Everybody lost their home in a wind named Katrina.” Not only the people of New Orleans but all Americans were abandoned in the wake of this catastrophe. There is still much to be done.

I offer this song as a reminder of the people who still need our help. Please make a donation large or small at www.mercycorps.org or visit inthesunfoundation.org.”
