Michael Stipe, Jake Shears, Adam Lambert Design Shred of Hope Tees For Queer Youth

From newnownext.com: “We’ve got the line on an interesting and trés fashionable fundraiser for LGBT youth: Shred of Hope, benefiting the Ali Forney Center in New York, sees celebrities like Michael Stipe, Jake Shears, John Cameron Mitchell, Ally Sheedy, Adam Lambert, Dustin Lance Black and Casey Spooner personalizing “Shredder” tee shirts and putting them up for auction online.

“We were looking for a way to have an impact in the lives of the young people the Ali Forney Center serves. Not just by raising money —€œ although we certainly hope that people will bid generously on the one-of-a-kind pieces of art our celebrity designers have created —€œ but also by creating something that could connect some of the prominent, successful people in our community with these kids who are in great need,” says David Lauterstein, CEO ofNasty Pig, the edgy Chelsea clothier sponsoring the line. “By supporting the Ali Forney Center, everyone who bids on a Shred of Hope shirt is supporting the next generation of LGBT creativity and activism.”

A-List New York star Mike Ruiz is hosting a special Shred of Hope launch event on June 20, but the shirts will be up for bid online through June 27. Check out some of the cool designs, sported by their celeb designers, at newnownext.com
