Mike will play at the upcoming Alex Chilton memorial show at Levitt Bandshell in Overton Park, Memphis, May 15. The show is a tribute to Chilton who passed away from a heart attack on March 17th. Ken Stringfellow, a member of Big Star since 1993 (along with Posies bandmate Jon Auer and original Big Star drummer Jody Stephens) provided details on the show: “This was the last show we had scheduled at the time of Alex’s death. There will be special guests coming and doing a few songs. Brendan Benson, Sondre Lerche and various local luminaries will also take part” including original Big Star bassist Andy Hummel.
