R.E.M.’s European tour finale in Athens, Greece (which took place on October 5th), will air on MTV over the course of the coming weeks in Europe, Africa, Asia, and Canada. As many of you will recall, the band completed the European leg of their world tour with a free concert at the famous Kallimarmaron Panathinaiko stadium in Athens, where an estimated crowd of 50,000 fans turned out to celebrate the launch of MTV Greece that day. The concert, called MTV GR Day, featured performances by R.E.M., Kaiser Chiefs, C:Real, and Gabriella Cilmi.
