The bill for the show at Dante’s in Portland last night read Richmond Fontaine, with opening sets by Kevn Kinney and Scott McCaughey. What the crowd saw however was a combined set by Kinney, McCaughey and Peter Buck, trading songs under a hanging lamp purchased for the occasion, with a painting of Jesus adding to the sitting-round-the-sofa vibe. Peter played mandolin, bass, and dulcimer, and all of Richmond Fontaine joined in as well, before ending the night with their own super-charged set of literary road tales.
