R.E.M. AT THE BBC AIRS FRIDAY

“R.E.M. at the BBC” will air this Friday, January 13th, on BBC4 (digital channel) at 9.30pm. The program will run again on Saturday at 1:45AM and Monday at 12 Midnight.

The hour-long show will feature a selection of archive performances from throughout the band’s career, originally recorded for BBC programs including The Old Grey Whistle Test, Top of the Pops, Parkinson, The Late Show and Later with Jools Holland. Songs featured include Losing My Religion, Orange Crush, Pretty Persuasion and Half a World Away. Singer Michael Stipe and bass player Mike Mills also reflect on the band’s decision to finally call it a day last September.–BBC

R.E.M. at the BBC will be followed by Later with Jools Holland presents R.E.M. at 10.30pm: an edition of the music show from 1998 devoted to the band who performed tracks from Up as well as favorites from their back catalog on this memorable appearance.
