R.E.M. CONTRIBUTES TRACK TO “DOWNLOAD TO DONATE” FOR TSUNAMI AND EARTHQUAKE RELIEF

The band has donated a live version of Man on the Moon, recorded at their 2005 concert in Tokyo, Japan, to “Download to Donate: Tsunami Relief” to support children and families in Japan following the devastating earthquake and tsunami of March 11, 2011, in the Tōhoku region. One hundred percent of the proceeds will be directed to Save the Children for the duration of the campaign, which runs through May 11. “Children are always the most vulnerable in any disaster,” said Charles MacCormack, president and CEO of Save the Children. “We are grateful this partnership with Music For Relief will help address the immediate and ongoing needs of children and families impacted by this emergency.”

For a donation of $10 to the relief effort, supporters will receive the seventeen-song “Download to Donate” digital music compilation (tracklisting below). Click here to donate and get the songs (tracklisting is displayed at the link).
