Michael spoke with Anderson Cooper this evening about CNN’s new documentary, Planet in Peril, which will air on October 23rd and 24th. Michael and Cooper talked about the environment’s crisis condition and the fact that leaders and citizens of the world must step up if positive change is to occur in the very near future. R.E.M. has collaborated on the Planet in Peril project by lending the program “Until The Day Is Done,” a new song from the band’s forthcoming record due out next spring. The band felt so strongly about the Planet in Peril project that they decided to make the song available months before the record is to be released.
