TIRED PONY TAKES NYC

On the heels of releasing The Place We Ran From in the USA Tuesday followed by a guest appearance on Late Night With David Letterman last night, Tired Pony gears up to play their maiden show in the States tonight at Irving Plaza in NYC. The band will also play a Monday night show in Los Angeles at the El Rey Theatre.

In last weekend’s roundup, we mentioned a UK survey which recognized The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonite as the song containing lyrics most frequently misheard by listeners. DEAR NEW ORLEANS BENEFIT CONCERT

While we’re on the subject of concerts, our friends at the Future of Music Coalition and Air Traffic Control are holding a special benefit concert on Monday, October 4th in Washington, D.C. Dear New Orleans Benefit Concert will take place at the Black Cat beginning at 8PM.

The concert showcases several of the artists who contributed to the critically-acclaimed compilation, Dear New Orleans —€ a benefit album produced by Air Traffic Control to mark the fifth anniversary of Katrina and the floods. This D.C. show pays tribute to the city of music with one-of-a-kind collaborations between album artists and celebrated New Orleans musicians including Bonerama, Damian Kulash of OK Go, Jenny Toomey & Franklin Bruno, Hank Shocklee (Public Enemy’s Bomb Squad), Jonny 5 of Flobots, Wonderlick (and half of Too Much Joy!), Rebecca Gates, and Crossover Clarinetist Mariam Adam along with special guests!
