Tonight’s concert at Konig-Pilsener Arena in Oberhausen is the first of the band’s three remaining shows in Germany this tour. On Thursday, the guys will play the Color Line Arena in Hamburg, and, after shows in Luxembourg and Switzerland this weekend, the band will return to Germany for a show in Munich at the Olympiahalle on September 23rd. Seems it was not long ago that the band played a really memorable show in a driving rain in Germany. Support on the next ten dates is from We Are Scientists .
To kick off the band’s return to Germany, we’ve included a link to a great Q & A which Mike did recently in Waldbuhne, Germany, where R.E.M. played earlier on the tour. Check it out.
PS: We were looking around youtube for video of the band in Oberhausen to post and found this great version of “I Took Your Name” from 2004. Moments later Bertis called to say that the band had just played the song for the first time this tour…Coincidentally, the Oberhausen performance of “I Took Your Name” in February 2005 was the first time the band had played the Monster-era rocker since 1995! Have a look at Bertis’ postcard from Oberhausen ’05.
