R.E.M cranked out 25 year-old classic and rarely played fan favorite “Radio Free Europe” during the encore of their show in Belgrade tonight at Hala 1 Belgrade Fair Arena. Michael donned a B-92 Radio Station t-shirt during the song in honor of the underground station that, despite the war in the ’90’s, managed to continue broadcasting and helped ultimately to topple despot Slobodan Milosevic. “Radio Free Europe” culminates a tremendous stint in Serbia for the band this week, which included a vist to the Presidential Palace to meet Serbia President, Boris Tadic.
