#AUTOMATIC25, the listening and viewing party celebrating the 25th anniversary of both the release of R.E.M.’s “Automatic for the People” & the very first R.E.M. Athens listening party, c. 1992, will take place on Saturday, October 21 at the 40 Watt Club in Athens, GA, from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Finding Oscar will return to the big screen for a special one night engagement on 9/28 at Cine Athens. The soundtrack features a new recording of “Flowers of Guatemala,” performed by Peter Buck, Scott McCaughey, John Stirratt, Paul Pilot and Joe Adamik. Rock icons R.E.M. are reissuing their landmark album Automatic For The People to commemorate the title’s 25th Anniversary. Due November 10 via Craft Recordings, the remastered album will be available in a variety of formats, the most extensive of which is the Deluxe Anniversary Edition, which will feature the album in it’s entirety mixed in Dolby Atmos.
