We left the hotel about 11:30, all stocked up with water and assorted munchies. Today we drive from Barcelona to Durango – a six hour drive, just like yesterday. Our Spanish hosts are in the front
The Minus Five are in Spain for five shows this month, and, as usual, we have the photos and setlists to prove it.

Peter has been recording tracks for a potential album with Bill Rieflin and Robert Fripp in Seattle at Jupiter Studios. HQ received photos and an update today from Brian Orloff who describes the music as “Sonic Architecture…very spacey and atmospheric.”

The band put together an impromptu performance tonight in Athens at R.E.M guitar tech Dewitt Burton’s wedding reception. Roughly three-hundred people packed into a tiny arcade room at the bowling alley where the reception was held as Peter, Michael, Mike, and Bill Berry ripped through a scorching seven-song set
R.E.M has received a nomination for the Best Festival Headliner in this year’s UK Festival Awards. The awards, initially launched in October 2004, will be voted for online by the general public here over a three week period from Monday, October 17th through November 7th.

Michael joined Chris Martin of Coldplay on stage in Atlanta last night during the UK band’s performance at Phillip’s Arena. The duo performed R.E.M.’s Nightswimming in front of a packed audience who gave Michael a rousing reception before and after the song.
